Disciples in the Moonlight

Opens in Theaters July 17

In the not-too-distant future, the United States has banned the Bible for its “offensiveness” and replaced it with a government-approved version. A small group of Christians are recruited to smuggle God’s Word to underground churches. With a ruthless federal agent in hot pursuit, the believers must choose between following the law
or honoring and trusting God.

Welcome to DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT, coming to movie theaters July 17-24. This action-packed faith film challenges you with the concept of “What if the Bible was illegal?” The movie is set in the future … but really, how long until something like this actually happens?

New Movie Has ORU Connection

The soundscape for DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT was designed and mixed on the campus of Oral Roberts University by adjunct professor Nathan Ashton, a longtime film sound designer. The audio editing, Foley, and re-recording rooms utilized are part of ORU’s Media Mastery Institute (MMI), made possible through the generosity of the Kloehr family and other ORU alumni.

“The opportunity to work on DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT here at ORU was a wonderful experience,” Nathan says. “The movie is genius and demanded quality. The facility here sounds great, and the students are simply the best. Students in the MMI use the sound rooms we used as laboratories to hone their skills, and in this case, to help create this soundscape for DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT.”
